It's always exciting when the first poppies of the season bloom.  Today I woke up to this beauty.

Kelly's Path

I dedicated this part of my garden to my friend Kelly a few years ago.The blindingly bright Golden Oregano, I know, would bring a smile to her face, if she were here. I think of her every time  I walk down this path.

Iris All Aboard, Clown Around, Well Endowed and Texas Gold Columbine

The Iris look particularly dashing in front of the Texas Gold Columbine Aquilegia chrysantha ‘Hinckleyana,' this year.

Clematis 'Ramona'

The first Clematis to bloom in my garden each spring is Clematis 'Ramona.'

It happens to be my favorite Clematis too!

Tulipa clusiana var. Tubergens Gem

The little Tulips blooming amongst the Sedum and Golden Oregano is a species Tulip.  I love how the red pops with the green and gold.
