My Boss brought this HUGE Camellia to work today. She does not know the variety but said it has been blooming for four whole months. I guess you could say it's been a good year for Camellias!

Bouquet of Inland Sea Oats
Inland Sea Oats (Chasmanthium latifolium) seed freely if left through the winter. I've got more than enough of them so I decided, this year, to make a bouquet. The bunch looks just as fresh today as it did three months ago.

Rainbow Garden Club Meeting
This past Sunday I hosted a meeting for The Rainbow Garden Club of Dallas. Our speaker was Janet K. Smith who spoke on bat houses. She encouraged us all to erect bat houses to combat mosquitoes and other unfriendly insects, which we all agreed is a much better remedy than harmful pesticides. my neighbor I and are planning on putting a couple of them up soon.
If you'd like to buy one Janet's bat houses, they will soon be available at The Petropolitan.

The Oxblood Lilies (Rhodophiala bifida) are in bloom! Nothing like bright red to lead you to the end of a path!
