Bluebonnets - Lupinus texensis 

The wet winter has brought out the Bluebonnets in Texas this year. My spring garden has spots of Bluebonnets growing here and there, which have come up from dormant seeds from the past couple of years. I was delighted to see that a few of the Alamo Fire Bluebonnets popped up as well.

Plum Tree - Prunus

My twin brother, who lives in Colorado zone 5b, sent this beautiful photo of a Plum tree blooming in his family's yard. I can smell it all the way in Texas! WOW - right?

I acquired these Petunias last fall from a plant swap.  I planted them in pots around my conversation garden and then abandoned them all through the winter.  They remained semi-dormant until the days got longer and the temps got warmer, then they popped out with all these beautiful colors.  Sometimes the old garden favorites are still the best.
